For this model, that was precisely the case (unless, of course, sauntering across a runway at London Fashion Week homed the top spot on this woman's bucket list).
This whole concept of chucking on a weird, grotesque and, dare I say it, unfashionable outfit just doesn't seem to sit right for me. Surely a fashion abomination should send you straight into the industry's no-go zone, not bag you Vogue's coveted approval and an exclusive runway walk at LFW (sanity...are you there?)
To venture into this situation a little deeper, I decided to delve into some of London Fashion Week's most questionable appearances to find out: is being unfashionable the new fashionable? Besides, what better way to make you feel better about your own style choices than to capitalize off of the fashion world's own faux-pas.

Do you have anything that screams, 'my dress ate me'? Yes, that's perfect!

Did somebody order custom couture plastic?

Spider man, is that you?!
Not only do shocking and quirky outfits send thrills to the fashion industry, but they are also scaringly easy to pull off; take the viral youtube video, Faking the way to LFW wearing ugly clothes for example.
Sooo, what do you think? Is being unfashionable the new fashionable?
I feel like sometimes I just don't understand what fashion means precisely. I think that nowadays it's more about you feeling comfy and fashionable in the clothes you're wearing rather than following the newest trends and hoping that someone will appreciate the way we look.

Same here. Would much rather feel good in an outfit then try to gain attention in a plastic infateable haha. Thanks for reading :)
Deletethere are a lot of weird designs that we see and i really don't understand what's the point of them! they are really bad!

Effortlessly Sophisticated
Honestly, I don't know how some people like it!
DeleteHahaha yes Fashion had always been guilty of this lol. Often the runway is more like theatre not what people would actually wear in the street. But in general fashion has moved more to a streetwear vibe then a high fashion dressed up vibe.

DeleteThis is really interesting! I never pay much attention to fashion, but these outfits are just strange, ha ha! I think fashion is always trying to be more daring and adventurous, although sometimes it goes way to far. Thanks for sharing Lily, really enjoyed this! <3 xx

Love that! I think to not follow trends is always very special :)
DeleteI think fashion wants to provoke and not always wants to be wearable, and with the things actually worn outside the runway, that becomes increasingly hard. But no, I wouldn't wear anything like that. Not even something close.

DeleteSuch an interesting post. Hahaha I really never understood the fashion style on the runway. I rarely follow any fashion style. I just wear what feels comfortable and looks good on me. :-)

Definitely!
DeleteFashion is art for many people and they try to express themselves by it. I think that's why they prepare these creations.

Yes, some of these designs are certainly artistic :)
